WIBF receives Corporate Recognition Award from Toastmasters International

The Corporate Recognition Award from Toastmasters International is an award to organisations that have displayed significant support for the Toastmasters programme. Women in Banking and Finance (WIBF), as part of their personal excellence programme, partially sponsors two Toastmaster clubs in London, the WIBF Speakers CW Club (Canary Wharf) and the WIBF Speakers-City Club (City of London).

“The Corporate Recognition Award from Toastmasters International is an award to organisations that have displayed significant support for the Toastmasters programme. Women in Banking and Finance (WIBF), as part of their personal excellence programme, partially sponsors two Toastmaster clubs in London, the WIBF Speakers CW Club (Canary Wharf) and the WIBF Speakers-City Club (City of London). 

Due to the great achievements of both Toastmaster Clubs, and due to WIBF (i) actively encouraging its members to join one of the Toastmaster clubs and (ii) having the potential to sponsor further Toastmaster clubs, WIBF has been nominated for its continual support of the Toastmasters programme. Teresa Dukes, International Director of Toastmasters International, presented the award formally at the Toastmasters District 91 Conference on the evening of 7th of November in Swindon.

To many WIBF members, the two WIBF Toastmaster clubs provide the amazing opportunity to have a go at something that feels out of reach in a professional environment. They provide a safe environment to practise in, supporting and encouraging their members, as well as providing detailed feedback and great networking opportunity. The Toastmaster meetings are a great way to meet other WIBF members in a relaxed, fun and encouraging environment!

Toastmasters is an international non-profit organisation, started in 1924 with the specific goal of empowering individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.  The WIBF Toastmaster clubs meet on alternating Wednesdays in the City and Canary Wharf to provide WIBF members with a chance to develop leadership skills and build confidence in public speaking in a relaxed and encouraging environment.  Our meetings are a great way to meet other WIBF members and the camaraderie is brilliant!
