Communities and networking

Bringing women together

On top of our footprint spanning the length and breadth of the UK, where we connect women in financial services working locally to your own home, we also bring individuals together based on other aspects of their professional lives.

Below, you'll find details of some of these networks, which are available exclusively to WIBF members. If you don’t see a community you’d like to be part of, get in touch—we’d love to hear your ideas.

SELF: Senior Executive Leader Forum

The Senior Executive Leader Forum (SELF) is an invitation-only network for senior leaders within the Women in Banking and Finance (WIBF) community. Designed for Managing Directors, Partners and C-suite executives - both women and men - SELF brings together experienced decision-makers who are shaping the future of leadership in financial services.

As part of WIBF’s commitment to supporting women at every stage of their careers, SELF provides a dedicated space for the most senior members of our community to connect, reflect and influence change across the industry.

This is not a traditional networking group; it is a high-impact forum for decision-makers who lead with intent. SELF connects the industry's most influential voices to move beyond conversation and into tangible action.

Through thought leadership discussions, fireside conversations with leading figures and strategic networking, members gain insight into emerging trends shaping the sector — from technology and the future of work to inclusive leadership and industry transformation. Conversations take place under Chatham House Rules, creating a trusted environment for open dialogue among peers.

SELF meets every two months for curated discussions and networking opportunities.

Membership is open to senior WIBF members at Managing Director level and above (or equivalent) who want to collaborate, share insight and help shape the future of financial services.

Future Leader Network

The Future Leaders Network (FLN) is one of WIBF’s most active and engaged communities, designed for those in the first 10 years of their career.

It provides a supportive space for young professionals to connect with like-minded peers, share goals, seek advice, and learn and grow together. The network brings together an ambitious and motivated group of members who value collaboration, development and supporting one another.

FLN offers a dynamic mix of regular in-person events, a dedicated newsletter to keep members informed and inspired, and a range of opportunities to get involved through volunteering and shaping the direction of the network. It’s a vibrant community where members can build meaningful connections, gain confidence and take an active role in their professional journey.

Women in Tech Network

The WIBF Women in Tech Network is a new community for women in technology across financial services. This network is open to WIBF members at all levels who are working in tech, as well as those at the start of their career journey, students, those who are looking to transition into a tech role or just stay informed with what is happening in the tech ecosystem.

Technology is transforming financial services, but women remain underrepresented in many areas. The Women in Tech Network will provide a space to connect, share insights, and support each other in navigating the challenges and opportunities in this fast-evolving field. Whether you are just starting out or leading major initiatives, this network is designed to help you build relationships, learn from peers, and gain inspiration from women who are shaping the future of tech.

Through events, discussions, thought leadership and skill-building initiatives, we aim to create a supportive and collaborative community where women can thrive.

If you are passionate about technology and want to be part of a network that champions women in the women in tech in the finance industry, we’d love to have you involved.

We are delighted that Infosys - a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, is supporting the Women in Tech network as an Ambassador.

This vibrant community aims to empower female financial advisors by fostering connections and sharing knowledge through a brand-new LinkedIn group, as well as in-person and online events.

Our Awards Alumni

With awards presented annually since 1998, WIBF has had the privilege of recognising a list of amazing individuals and teams over the years. These select few are invited to join our awards alumni and gain access to exclusive, invitation-only events, including our monthly Alumni Zoom rooms, an informal catch up with alumni members. Keep an eye out for emails on this and on the events page. We are also introducing quarterly newsletters for alumni to keep you up-to-date with what we are up to.

If you are a WIBF Award winner and you want to get involved and receive emails about Alumni and WIBF activity, please get in touch with our operations team.

Suggest a community

While we have groups that meet regularly based on their role within financial services (e.g. our Senior Business Leaders Network), through their connection to WIBF (e.g. the Awards Alumni community), or because of their future aspirations (e.g. our Future Leaders Network), other communities exist.
