Volunteers of the month – May 2022

Volunteers of the month – May 2022 There is a first for everything, and this month our Volunteer of the Month is being awarded jointly to the Co-Heads of Mentoring, Victoria Pringle and Samantha Carnley.

Our mentoring programme is a uniquely special part of WIBF.  We offer this free matching service because we know how important a part it can be in an individual’s personal development and later career trajectory.

Victoria and Sam have been phenomenal in developing WIBF’s offering; identifying and matching many extraordinary mentors with many grateful members. Sam joined as a WIBF volunteer only recently, and yet the pair are already making a huge impact in the gender space, injecting new thinking throughout the programme.

Says president Anna Lane: “Jennie Koo and I feel very strongly that both Victoria and Sam should be nominated. They are such a team. Mentoring is the jewel in the WIBF crown, and the new award they have introduced, Mentor of the Month, is a wonderful way to recognise those individuals who devote such effort and care to help others develop their careers. The time and attention Victoria and Sam take to research and match mentors and mentees is a huge credit to both.  I hope you feel as proud of your work as we do of you.”

We thank Victoria and Sam for all the hard work and sheer initiative they put into making our mentoring offering a success.
