Looking ahead to International Women’s Day 2023

With 8 March 2023 fast approaching, the WIBF team wants to know what plans our corporate partners have organised and that WIBF is keen to share.

While details of the website going live will be in your email inbox soon, we wanted to ask what you’re planning for International Women’s Day 2023, which this year sees #EmbraceEquity as its campaign message,

The focus underscores an important point given equity is often now intertwined with diversity and inclusion in the work that we, and many of those reading this message, lead. Its addition signals that equity is vital, building on the foundation that diversity (critical to ensuring the continued commercial success of organisations) and inclusion (so those diverse individuals are welcomed and engaged) delivers.

Equity ensures everyone has access to the same opportunities, visibility and voice. These are three aspects Dr Grace Lordan – lead academic on WIBF’s Accelerating Change Together (ACT) programme and Founding Director of the London School of Economics’ The Inclusion Initiative – believes managers need to pay particular attention to when seeking to ensure that underrepresented groups (and not just women) can enjoy the best careers possible.

It’s also worth flagging that International Women’s Day is traditionally a day when WIBF seeks to promote all the programmes that our 71 corporate partners have set up, as they celebrate and promote the women that are customers, employees and key stakeholders.
