Our WIBF Student Engagement Strategy (SES) launched earlier this month with our first ever student-dedicated event, with over 100 attendees!

We hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ panel event in collaboration with King’s College London’s Women in Business Society with speakers from HSBC, JP Morgan, EQT, and BNP Paribas. We believe that through events like this, we can inspire and inform young women considering a career in the financial industry. We were pleased to hear when gathering feedback from our survey that 100% of respondents would recommend this event and WIBF to their peers.

On October 3rd, we kicked off the launch of our Student Engagement Strategy (SES) with our inaugural ‘Ask Me Anything’ panel which took place at the King’s College London Campus on the Strand.

The event began with an introduction from Eleonora Mancino, President of the KCL Women in Business Society, and Sarah Woodard, Co-Chair of the Future Leaders Shadow Board, who introduced WIBF and all the wonderful things we do here.

Eleonora moderated the panel which featured Mira Ratyal from HSBC, Miruna Pirvulescu from JP Morgan, Agata Bak from BNP Paribas, and Sarah Woodard from EQT. Not only did the panel share personal experiences about their journey into finance, but they discussed their best tips on how to secure an internship in the sector, their daily schedules and what they most enjoy about their roles.

To close the event, we highlighted the importance of networking and connecting with people in the industry.

This is just one of many upcoming events we have lined up for students with our next event taking place on November 17th at Bristol with the University of Bristol’s Women in Finance Society.

As a reminder, heavily discounted WIBF student memberships can be purchased here for only £10/year. The Student Only Membership gives you access to our online events, events archive, online networking communities, and the opportunity to volunteer at WIBF. You will also be able to access our ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions where you can listen to and ask questions to professionals in the industry regarding their work experiences, application advice, and more.
