WIBF are proud to be supporting and celebrating International Women`s Day Across our Regions

WIBF are delighted to be involved in International Women’s Day with a series of events held across our regions.

Birmingham

Kicking off at 10am in Birmingham on Wednesday 6th March, in association with West Midlands Women’s Voice we are proud to present ‘In Conversation with Dr Helen Pankhurst’ alongside other workshops.

Session 1: 10:00 – 12:00 Morning Conversations

Session 2: 12:00 – 14:00 Lunch, Keynote and Panel (Distinguished Speaker)

Session 3: 14:00 – 16:00 Afternoon Workshops (PEP)

Dr Helen Pankhurst, CBE – Helen is a women’s right activist and senior advisor to CARE International, working in the UK and in Ethiopia. She is a trustee of ActionAid, a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE and Visiting Professor at MMU.

Workshop: (14:00 – 16:00)

Option 1: Exploring Your Political Pathway (for women only, and limited to 80 attendees on the day)
Join the Parliament Project for a workshop for women who have an interest in politics but don’t know where to start. Come along to connect with other women as we explore why women get into politics, what routes you can take and how to commit to your first steps.

Option 2: What choice do we have? Improving Wellbeing in Everyday Hectic Lives

Join the Combined Authority at an interactive workshop showcasing physical activity initiatives in the region, latest developments on wellbeing, and how you can get involved. Want to be healthier and more productive?

The full day runs from 10 am to 4 pm but the tickets divide the day into 3 parts.

Thursday 7th March –

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Robert Walters and their ongoing Empowering Women in the Workplace campaign for this years International Women’s Day celebrations.

We have secured an expert panel of five professionals from various backgrounds, who will be sharing their thoughts and experiences. There will be three sessions on the evening. The first on Imposter Syndrome, the second on how your biggest disaster could lead to your greatest opportunity and the third session on how we can give more women the confidence when returning to the workplace.

Key themes around the topic will be debated by the panel prior to a Q&A session from the audience.

Wednesday 6th March

In London we have a members only event in conjunction with IoD City, ING, State Street and will be celebrating this year’s theme #BalanceforBetter.

Held at State Street Bank in Canary Wharf from 6pm – 8.30pm we welcome:

Gunjan Chauhan, Senior MD and member of SSGA’s Diversity Committee will be giving highlights of State Street Global Advisor’s recent research published by Dr Amlan Roy on “Why Gender Equality Matters? Better for Growth, Debt, Inequality & Sustainability” to prompt discussions on aspects of gender balance including the gender pension gap.
