2018 WIBF AWARDS FOR ACHIEVEMENT NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

news published date 2 November 2017

It is time to celebrate the inspirational men and women working for diversity in our sector. WIBF is delighted to invite members (and those who work for corporate members) to submit nominations for the 2018 WIBF Awards for Achievement.

“2018 sees the introduction of a new award, ‘The WIBF Rising Star Award,’ celebrating those women who have been in the finance industry for five years or less but have absolutely left their mark on their organisation and on their colleagues.

There is no age limit for this award. Nominees could perhaps have entered finance as a second career or moved from another part of their organisation. We are looking forward to learning of the achievements of these impressive women.

The WIBF Rising Star Award sits alongside our WIBF Award for Achievement, WIBF Champion for Women, WIBF Young Professional and WIBF Team Diversity awards. Full details of the awards and how to nominate can be found here.

Do note the closing date for nominations is Wednesday 28th February. This will give WIBF more time before the Awards event to communicate and celebrate the shortlisted nominees once they are announced in April. Last year we introduced the WIBF Awards Shortlist Dinner, which was a great success. It gave nominees the opportunity to share experiences with one another. Indeed, that is one of the main reasons for our awards – to learn from peers across the sector.

In 2017 we were also very happy to see a wider reach for nominations and nominees – corporate member Citi nominated another organisation, MUFG, for WIBF Team Diversity Award, and we saw an increase in nominations of individuals working for non corporate members.

Our efforts are strengthened by numbers; spreading the ideas that work; learning from each other; celebrating the impressive women and men who work for diversity.

Who will you nominate?

WOMEN OF THE SQUARE MILE CONFERENCE 2018

The Women of The Square Mile conference on 27th February 2018 promises to be an exciting event. It aims to drive progress in the financial sector by addressing the barriers to women’s careers, enabling professional and personal development, and examining how executives can change their culture to attract and retain talent. These are all issues at the forefront of our minds.

The conference will also explore how technology is changing finance.

I will be speaking at the conference and the conference organisers have offered WIBF members a discounted rate for the conference. When you register please use the code SPEAKERS15 to receive the discount.
