Culture and Conduct - Do Regulators, Firms and Staff know what they actually mean?
It was an absolute honour to be joined by Roger Miles, specialist Risk Researcher and Practitioner, Phil Cotter, Managing Director at Refinitive, Wendy Jephson, Head of Behavioural Science at Nasdaq, and Marian Bloodworth, Employment Partner at KempLittle and member of the advisory board at WIBF. The panel was moderated by our very own Vivienne Artz, Global Chief Privacy Officer at Refinitive and President of WIBF.
Thank you to Capco for hosting an incredibly engaging and insightful event in an intimate setting at heart of Shoreditch. The panel impressed the audience with their wisdom and expertise touching on various softer aspects of good conduct and finding the right balance, and not treating it as a tick box exercise, as well as the influence of AI from a technology perspective and how that can help.
As the evening continued, the panel went on to discuss how Technology alone cannot provide the full story and that human intervention is still needed and valued, and that the importance of living your values and embodying them cannot be understated in our everyday lives.
In summary, alongside several other factors, it’s down to 3 things:
1.) Mindset—Having the right mindset is important as at the end of the day, each and everyone of us is here to add value to the business.
2.) Training—Line Managers need to have the right training and investment provided to make a difference and last but not the least,
3.) Intent and Outcome— Be clear about the intent and outcomes
The evening concluded with drinks and networking, where the conversation continued in an informal environment.
