International Women`s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. International Women`s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first​ ​March 8​ ​IWD gathering supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

“Prior to this the​ Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women equality. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

We are delighted to bring to you a month long programme of activity as part of Women in Banking & Finance International Women’s Day celebrations.


8th March: International Women’s Day – Empowering Women in the Workplace

In collaboration with Robert Walters we have an exciting expert panel of professionals from various industry backgrounds to discuss the benefits of mentoring and ways in which we can give more women the confidence to ‘put their hand up’.

14th March: Business Body Language – The Secret Language of Successful Business Women

Generously hosted by RBS, join former Citigroup M.D Cindy Ferrara in this highly interactive workshop to understand the factors of successful communication. As a former Head of Sales at Bankers Trust and Citigroup, Cindy has extensive knowledge of the financial sector and communication.
