We are delighted to recognise Laura Murphy as WIBF’s Volunteer of the Month for February.

Laura is a valued member of the Individual Membership team, where she brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to strengthening how WIBF understands and supports its membership community. Her work combines strong data insight with practical problem-solving, helping the team turn ideas into clear, actionable outcomes.

One of Laura’s most significant contributions has been developing WIBF’s membership data dashboard, which now provides valuable insight for both the Management Board and Future Leaders Shadow Board. This work has enhanced how the organisation tracks performance, identifies opportunities and makes evidence-based decisions.

Laura’s curiosity, consistency and collaborative approach make her a real asset to the team and the wider WIBF community.

The feedback from the team speaks volumes about the impact she is making. Katharine Carleton, Operations Manager shared:

“Laura is a highly valued member of the Individual Membership team, bringing both a genuine passion for problem-solving and a strong grasp of data-driven insight. Her contributions are consistently thoughtful, well-considered and practical, and she can always be relied upon to deliver high-quality work.

She approaches projects with quiet focus and consistency, ensuring steady progress and dependable results. What truly sets Laura apart, however, is her inquisitive mindset. She doesn’t take information at face value – she asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, and proposes well-reasoned alternative solutions. She is a pleasure to work with and a real asset to the team.”

Liyana Shirin also highlighted the scale and strategic value of her work:

“Laura has been a tremendous asset to our Individual Memberships team. From day one, she has been consistently producing work that strengthens the wider WIBF strategy while also making thoughtful, high-impact additions that move our membership’s vision forward.

Laura quickly gets to the heart of what matters and finds smart ways to turn ideas into clear, actionable outcomes. She thinks outside the box, anticipates what others may need and is always willing to step in and help.

One of Laura’s most pivotal contributions has been building our membership dashboard, which is now providing data-driven insights for both our Management Board and Future Leaders Shadow Board. This work has materially improved how we understand performance, spot opportunities and support decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions. It is a powerful example of Laura’s ability to combine analytical rigour with a strategic mindset and deliver a project that creates lasting value.”

And Cristina Tamsa, Individual Memberships Manager added:

“Laura has been a pivotal member of the team and over the last year she has not only re-engineered the individual membership platform but has also found ways to improve our stats and interpret data which have been instrumental to the wider WIBF community and partners. I am proud of Laura and congratulate her on all the hard work, she is a real pleasure to work with.”

Congratulations Laura! Thank you for everything you do and your commitment to WIBF.
