news published date 6 February 2025We are absolutely delighted to recognise Diya Patel, as WIBF’s Volunteer of the Month for January for her outstanding leadership as CFO and Executive Board member.
Jennie Koo seconded the nomination from Anna Lane, stating that “Diya has guided us through some incredibly tough times”. Emma Ryan agreed, adding that Diya is, “Always approachable, calm and clear with direction. An inspiring leader especially in tackling challenges.”
Since taking on the role in 2023, she has transformed WIBF’s financial function—bringing greater transparency, governance, and rigour while ensuring our financial health. Diya’s ability to professionalise the team, implement strong financial controls, and introduce clearer reporting has given us a level of confidence and stability that will serve WIBF well into the future.
Steering an organisation through economic challenges is no small feat, and Diya did it with skill, diplomacy, and an unwavering focus on sustainability. Thanks to her leadership, WIBF is entering 2025 in a strong financial position, giving us the foundation to continue our mission and make an even greater impact.
