Cristina Chimenti has been shortlisted in the British Accountancy Awards CFO of the Year category.

WIBF are incredibly proud to announce that our CFO Cristina Chimenti has been shortlisted as “CFO of the Year” for the British Accountancy Awards.

The Awards are regarded as the industry’s most prestigious accolades. They pinpoint professional development and highlight those that have demonstrated excellence in their profession.

Cristina joined WIBF in 2009 and after a year on the Board she took on the role as Glasgow Chair. Two years ago, she was asked by the president to take on the role as Treasurer which was then changed to CFO when WIBF became incorporated. Since relocating to London this year Cristina has left the Glasgow branch and has been focused on the CFO role.

During her time in WIBF Cristina has over-hauled the way we operate financially, moving from manual spreadsheets to a cloud-based solution for our accounts, supported the change to a limited company, introduced budget and accounting policies, reviewed the Chart of Accounts (COA), and produced regular and accessible reports for our Board meetings and AGM.

Cristina’s day job as Senior Group Procurement Partner is at Sky where she is instrumental on the digital adoption of purchasing catalogues, looks after the Sky Global Travel Programme and programme manages cross-category to achieve the Group Procurement Vision across Sky UK, Italy and Germany.

Cristina is the only woman in her category shortlist alongside the Finance Director of EasyJet (Paul Ablin), the Director of Finance of the University of Edinburgh (Phil McNaull), the CFO of Simply Business (Neil Edwards), Neuven’s Finance Director (Martin Shaw) and the Group Finance & Tax Director for Futurelink (Adam Becker).

The winner will be announced at a lavish black-tie event at London’s Grosvenor Hotel on September 26th.
