The WIBF AGM 2016 took place last week. Members attended in person in London and for the first time members could take part in the AGM via video-conference from Edinburgh.

WIBF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2016

As you would expect from our members, many questions were asked and I was delighted to hear how many people wanted to get more closely involved with WIBF.

We discussed how the website was the best conduit of information from WIBF to members and that it needed to be used more often and more usefully. We would like to have more content online. We also talked about changing the pricing structure of membership to encourage more individual members to join our network. We take members’ views seriously and will look at these issues. Engagement and involvement – exactly what we are here for.

WIBF STRATEGY DAY

The WIBF Executive Board will be holding their annual Strategy Day later this month and the issues raised at the AGM will be discussed as well as planning for the next year and assessing the achievements of this past year. I will report back next month.

MILKEN INSTITUTE ASIA SUMMIT – AND LONDON SUMMIT

The Milken Institute will be holding its London Summit in December. The Milken Institute is committed to championing women and diversity in general. At the Milken Institute’s Asia Summit, one of the many women in business interviewed by Michael Milken was Indra Nooyi, CEO and Chairperson of PepsiCo. She was incredible in sharing her wealth of experience leading one of the most successful multinationals with an annual turnover of $63 billion. The diversity of candidates participating in these conferences provides a 360 degree view of world thought-leadership and is absolutely fascinating.

The Milken Institute is very interested in the work we do at WIBF and has given me some tickets to the London Summit. I will be in touch with Platinum Members about these tickets in due course.”
