Welcome back from the holiday season. I hope you all had a chance to rest and re-charge with family and friends over the summer. September, with its ‘back-to-school’ associations, is always a natural point in the year to pause and assess how things are going in your career or, in WIBF’s case, our organisation.

 
On the 14th September, the WIBF Management Board will come together with the plans that each committee has proposed for next year’s activities and events. Our committee members – all dedicated volunteers – have been considering how we can most effectively deliver the most useful and inspiring programmes to support those five key strategic pillars which are now the guide for ensuring WIBF provides what our members and our industry needs. WIBF’s focus on Communities and Networking; WIBF Awards; WIBF Jobs; Thought-leadership; and Mentoring and Development forms the structure for all our plans to drive our aims and ambitions, over the next five years.
 
WIBF 40th ANNIVERSARY
Plans to mark WIBF’s 40th anniversary next year are underway. Throughout the year we will celebrate our long-term achievements and advance our ongoing ambitions while considering how to reach those individuals and organisations not yet engaged with our work. The 2020 Awards will be extra-special, held at the beautiful London Guildhall, and promoting those core values – we are volunteer-led, independent, inspiring and action-oriented – which have remained key to our success for nearly 40 years.
 
UK FINANCE STRATEGIC PURPOSE SERIES
UK Finance is running a series of events looking at areas which are increasingly important as the core elements of how firms define their strategy, business model and culture. The first event, on the 5th September (3-5pm), is a Diversity and Inclusion Panel & Reception.
