Panel Chair | Principal Recruitment Consultant - Harvey Nash Bethany McKenzie

Bethany works with a wide range of clients, specialising in commercial recruitment across Technical Leadership, Product, Programme Management and Business Analysis. She supports organisations from start-ups through to large multinationals, across sectors including SaaS, FinTech, consulting, public sector and financial services.

Her passion for women in technology started at home. Her mum spent over 40 years as a Software Engineer and often spoke about the challenges of being a woman in tech and the importance of backing yourself. This is something Bethany has carried through into her own career.

While she’ll be the first to say she’s not the technical one in the family, she thrives on working with people. She’s known for being straight-talking and supportive, and is particularly passionate about helping women progress in their careers, build confidence and secure the salary and opportunities they deserve.

She’s also an active ally in the Scotland Women in Technology community.

EMEA Recruitment Manager - Addepar Amie Johnston

Amie has over 13 years’ experience in recruitment, beginning her career in agency search before spending the last decade working in-house across the payments and fintech sectors.

Having built her career across early-stage start-ups, hyper-growth scale-ups and large enterprise environments, including PayPal, she brings a well-rounded perspective on what hiring teams look for at every stage of business growth.

Today, Amie leads Addepar’s internal EMEA Talent Acquisition team, driving recruitment across a broad range of roles, from software engineering to commercial sales.

Amie is passionate about talent branding and attraction, demystifying the hiring process and helping professionals successfully navigate career transitions. She specialises in enhancing candidate experience, helping jobseekers translate their skills to stand out to employers, and sharing insights on building an authentic personal brand in today’s market.

Principal Talent Acquisition - Consultant Anoop Gosai

Anoop is a relationship- and network-driven Talent Acquisition professional who is passionate about gender equality and greater representation of women in technology.

With over 20 years’ experience across agency and in-house recruitment, Anoop has advocated for women in tech, helped build diverse teams, and trained and mentored recruiters in recruitment best practice.

He is actively involved in the women in tech community, supporting and sponsoring events and meet-ups and building a strong network across the Scottish technology sector.

Anoop brings a practical perspective on creating more inclusive hiring practices and supporting people as they navigate career change and progression.

Workplace Take-to-Market and Strategy Lead - Scottish Widows Eleanor Hassall-Marlow

Eleanor is the Strategy & Take-to-Market Lead for Workplace Propositions at Scottish Widows. Prior to this role, she worked across consulting and industry in wealth management, technology and propositions.

El is a board member for WIBF Scotland and hosts her own network, the Inclusive Women’s Network, bringing together women across industries and backgrounds at events.

Having experienced different roles across industry and consulting, as well as facing redundancy in 2024, El has experience navigating the career space across a broad part of the financial services industry and believes your network might just be the most important tool we have.

Strategic Project & Change Manager, Advanta Wealth Naomi Macfarlane

Naomi is a change professional with 10+ years experience within change and transformation across consultancy, financial services, telecoms/media and insurance. She is passionate about seeing increased diversity in senior roles across technology and having transparent conversations to support this. Earlier this year she joined Advanta Wealth as their Strategic Project and Change Manager after a successful career at Capco.
