Mentors and Sponsors can both play a key role in smoothing the path that lies ahead, informally and formally, yet so many people fail to make the most of the potential support that lies within their network.

Workshop Structure

This session will look at the key foundations needed to put in place to attract the right support, from the strength of an individual’s network to getting their needs and message clear. Andy Lopata will look at how to access the true potential of your network, what motivates people to support, mentor and sponsor you and what mentors and sponsors expect from those they support.

In this ninety minute interactive session he will explore:

  • The power of your network
  • Understanding who influences who within your organisation
  • How to maintain strong relationships even when you’re busy
  • Taking control of what people say about you when you’re not in the room
  • Finding and working with sponsors and mentors - formally and informally

Andy is a business networking strategist; he works with companies on how to use networking tools to develop their businesses.

Networking is not just about sales. Networks and collaboration have a key role to play in lead generation, breaking down silos internally, recruitment and retention of top staff, and developing future leaders. Andy works with his clients to help recognise that role and put the strategy and skills in place to leverage it.

Andy has published three books on networking. He is an international speaker and has worked with companies such as BDO, HSBC and the BBC, as well as being a popular presenter at a number of women’s networks.
