About this event

Session 2 - How to engage with your mentor

As part of the WIBF Mentoring Programme, we are delighted to introduce a series of learning sessions designed exclusively for our mentees.

These sessions offer a welcoming and engaging space to explore key topics, build confidence, and connect with fellow mentees on the same journey. The sessions are designed to empower mentees to get the very most out of their mentoring experience. By exploring topics that are directly relevant to your personal and professional development, these sessions will help you navigate your mentoring journey with greater clarity, purpose, and confidence.

Each session runs for one hour and combines a short slide presentation on the topic with facilitated group discussion, experience sharing, and interactive breakout sessions. The breakout sessions provide a more intimate setting to connect with peers, share thoughts openly, and explore ideas together in smaller groups.

Sessions will cover a range of subjects to support you throughout your mentoring journey, including Your Mentoring Journey, How to Engage Effectively with Your Mentor, Career Planning, Behavioural Styles, Biases, and more.

You can attend as many or as few of the session as you wish, each session is a stand alone event, but of course we would love to see you at all the sessions!

This session will explore how to build a strong, productive mentoring relationship, including setting expectations, preparing for meetings, asking meaningful questions and taking ownership of your development. Designed to help mentees feel confident and proactive, it will offer practical guidance and shared insights to support a purposeful and rewarding mentoring journey. There will also be breakout rooms for you to have discussions in small groups.

These sessions are only open to all mentees participating in the WIBF Mentoring Programme.

Whether you are new to mentoring or have some experience, these sessions will help you reflect, grow, and make the most of this valuable programme.
