The prospects of relatively good salaries and interesting day-to-day work seemed sufficient to attract and retain talent. But the entrance of new technological players and more recently, the outbreak of the pandemic, have dramatically changed our values and what we look for in a job.

In this context, managing people becomes extremely important. Competition for talent is fierce, and retaining talent in-house seems key for the success of our businesses. But how can we motivate our teams in the current changing environment? How can we ensure that new values are welcome? What is the correct balance between the needs of our teams and the need to ‘deliver’? How can we escape being caught in the middle?

Sharing several personal experiences, we will try to answer these questions – with a focus on the relevance of paying attention to yourself.
