WIBF Edinburgh held an information and interactive business breakfast at Edinburgh Napier University this December. We were welcomed to the beautiful grounds of the Craiglockart Campus by Dr Marizah Minhat, on behalf of the Dean’s office. The Rivers Suite was dressed for Christmas and filled with plenty pastries and hot drinks for a cold and frosty morning.
Professor Christine Bamford, Founder and CEO of Women’s Coin introduced us to blockchain. She helped us get our head around the immutable and distributive nature of the technology. She guided us through practical applications of blockchain and signposted where she thinks acceleration is likely to come. We discussed the disruptive nature of blockchain along with the opportunities and challenges in financial services.
Christine also made us think about how gratitude can be tokenised and blockhain can be used for good. Her background in Change, Leadership and Health has taken her on many adventures. Now in her fourth career, Christine brought to life how tokens for non-financial value can open up possibilities for the underbanked. #morepowertoher.
