Event overview

We are excited to be hosting this panel discussion which will focus on the roles and responsibilities of a trustee and provide first-hand experience from previous successful WIBF trustee applicants who have been through it all before.

Bookings are closed for this event.

Morton Fraser LLP hosted WIBF and Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations for an interactive Panel Q&A session in their Boardroom on 9 December 2019.

Ruth McCallister, Director - Key Clients and Tenders, gave a fantastic welcome on behalf of Morton Fraser. The panel facilitated by Vicky Zuiderent included Andy Dey, Director of Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO), Kim Atkinson, Chief Executive, Scottish Sports Association, Meg Wright, Interim Executive Consultant and Convenor of ACOSVO Board and Lyndsey Phillips, President, Association of Scottish Businesswomen.

In the second half of the evening successful WIBF applicants, Casey MacFarlane and Erika Lawrence, shared their experience of the application journey and becoming a trustee. Lots of practical hints and tips were shared. By all accounts there was a buzz in the room on the night. Fingers crossed for a wave of new banking and finance trustees!

For the next stage, we intend to run a speed dating type recruitment event to introduce prospective trustees to third sector organisations. Watch this space for the next event and for links to useful resources. All panel members stressed that they need people with Legal, Finance, HR and IT backgrounds.
