Our voice is a remarkable instrument. But how often do we play it to our advantage? This session, co hosted with Citi, takes us on a trip through the vocal toolkit. Come prepared to buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Aren’t TED talks amazing? It’s not just the content that leaves its mark on us, it’s how speakers share it – their storytelling, their body language and critically, the way they use their voice. While we can’t replicate exactly how someone sounds (our voices are as individual as our fingerprints), we can learn some of the vocal techniques they use to make our own mark.

What, for example, can we do to sound confident when that’s the last thing we feel? How can we prepare to stop our voice ‘cracking’, worse disappearing, in high-stakes moments? When voicing our values, how do we sound measured and professional not irritated and defensive?

These are just some of the questions we’ll cover in this action-packed, interactive session. Answering them for you and taking your questions, will be Susan Room, whose Make Your Mark voice and executive coaching programme is popular with managers and leaders at Oracle, Financial Times, wefox and Baillie Gifford, amongst others.

Key Takeaways:

Expect to leave with practical insights and exercises to warm up your voice, flex your communication style, speak with strength and warmth, and much more.
