Event overview
Online bookings are not available for this event.
We are delighted to collaborate with the Birmingham Chartered Insurance Institute for this upcoming lunch time lecture with distinguished speaker Julie Goddard, MSC, Woodgate Consulting.
Our unconscious mind is amazing, it filters vast amounts of overwhelming data through the use of shortcuts to help us make decisions. We couldn’t function without this help. However, we do need to be aware of how the subconscious filters and arrives at decisions because a lot of the time it can just be plain wrong!
These shortcuts, or heuristics, that our brain employs are based on our background, cultural upbringing and personal experiences and operate at an instinctive, not analytical level. This can lead to dubious hiring decisions, costly mistakes in the boardroom and self-sabotaging thought processes which limit the fruition of our highest potential.
We will examine ways to control the impact of Unconscious Bias, as well as techniques to help you identify and master the unconscious brain’s short fallings - leaving you free to successfully pursue your goals. We will also explore slaying the beast that is Imposter Syndrome during this session.
