With half the year behind us, May 2018 marked the perfect month for a PEP workshop on Resilience and how to bounce back brilliantly, as evidenced by the high rate of attendance for this particular workshop, and the eagerness with which the participants wanted to learn more about what resilience meant for them and how they could also boost their resilience, positively and effectively.

As Jo Bamford, our esteemed speaker, put it so eloquently, falling down is part of life, but getting back up is living!

This tag line was the basis of the workshop throughout the evening, as she took everyone on a journey with her magnetic energy to help identify the key stress factors in the workplace, how having a degree of stress can actually help us perform in a positive way, and more importantly, how your brain, your mindset, your network, and your own attitude or beliefs, can all significantly impact your level of resilience.

Jo, is an Occupational Psychologist with vast experience in consultancy and as a coach. Her main aim is to maximise the effectiveness of human behaviour to enable leaders and managers to improve their agility and impact in today’s challenging world of work.

She has worked extensively with high performing managers and leadership teams on personal development and growth and has created the 7 High Performance hallmarks from working with over 20,000 leaders through her business. She also enjoys supporting young graduates and women in business; offering support through career coaching, maternity coaching, impact training, and last but not the lease on resilience!
Feedback on the workshop was incredibly positive as the audience mingled over some drinks and canapes. Below are a few examples of the comments we collected:

“She was fabulous”

“Very relevant topic with practical tips”

“Clear, informative slides interspersed with table activities”

“Interaction was great. Simple tools to deal with what I thought were boulders of problems. Very grateful”

The workshop was a resounding success and incredibly gratifying. A huge thank you to BP for hosting this event, with whom WIBF share’s a long standing and mutually respected relationship as one of WIBF’s key sponsors.
