WIBF Birmingham had the pleasure of attending yet another thought provoking event hosted by Ashley Bookman, CEO & Founder Momentum Inc.

There was a fantastic turn out at the wonderful PWC office in Birmingham City Centre and Ashley had us all actively engaged throughout.

He discussed the importance of mental fitness in an age where we all automatically think about physical fitness but do we really give our mental fitness a second thought? He explained how reaching a good mental fitness will in turn build your confidence not only at work but in all aspects of life.

During the eye opening session we looked at four key areas for optimising performance:

1. Self-Awareness - How to become more self-aware by using feedback from others positively and without being too critical.

2. Self-Acceptance – How to support your own confidence and self-esteem by turning self-criticism into self-support

3. Self-Appreciation – How to develop a supportive internal dialogue and celebrate your own achievements

4. Self-Discipline – How to foster self-discipline and refocus yourself on you and your own results.

Along with detailed discussion on these key areas Ashley reminded us to step back and ask ourselves where we are trying to get to. By asking yourself this question regularly you don’t lose sight of the bigger picture and it keeps us on track.

It was a very uplifting, positive session with an important underlying message to look after your mental health and wellbeing.
