The Only Way is Not Up: Navigating a Non-Linear Career
Does the concept of the ‘career ladder’ still make sense in today’s world of work? For increasingly more and more people, careers no longer follow a straight line, and ‘jobs for life’ are fast becoming a thing of the past. But just what is a non-linear career path? And if the only way is not up, how do we navigate it successfully?
Join us for this inspiring and informative session led by Lisa Unwin, co hosted by Tesco Bank, where we will explore how you can design a sustainable, fulfilling and rewarding career - however winding that path may be.
Lisa began her career in management consulting, becoming a partner in Arthur Andersen specialising in leadership, communication and change management. She later became Director of Brand and Communication at Deloitte.
Following her own six year career break, Lisa founded She’s Back, an organisation which campaigns to raise awareness of the potential, skills and experience offered by women returning to work after a career break or career hiatus. She is the co-author of She’s Back: Your Guide to Returning to Work which Arianna Huffington described as a “Must have guide to get more women back into the workplace”.
Lisa is also a co-founder of the Reignite Academy, an organisation which partners with city law firms to enable career break lawyers to get back on track. She was recently named as one of LinkedIn Top Voices for her writing on women in the workplace and diversity in general.
