Diversity nowadays goes far beyond traditional definitions that focus on gender and ethnicity; we hear about diversity of thought, ideas, markets, customers and talent. And this is what drives the need for inclusion as an organisational and leadership capability. But diversity and inclusion are not the same and companies need to be aware not to use them interchangeably. Psychologist Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic recently said: ‘Diversity without inclusion is like a root canal without anaesthesia’. Ouch! Leaders who display the ability to not only embrace diversity, but who also create a work culture that makes people work together, will be at a competitive advantage.

In this leadership session we will explore the notions of diversity and inclusion in more depth, giving you the opportunity to work alongside participants on articulating your vision of how to be an inclusive leader. Prior to the workshop you are invited to take an assessment called The GC Index®. This framework supports organisations in becoming truly diverse and inclusive by describing the five different ways in which people are inclined to make an impact and contribution. In the workshop, we will be exploring the aggregate survey data of the group live in the room so in order for you to get the most out of this session please fill out the 5-10 min survey which you will be sent once you’ve registered for this event.

Understanding the aggregate profiles generated by this tool will bring focus to this ‘Inclusive Leadership’ session, providing you with a framework and language to take away from this session and help you think about building diverse, inclusive and high performing team and work cultures. Please be assured that your results will be unattributable during the session and your personal data will be kept strictly confidential and not be passed onto any third party.

Key take-aways:

  • Articulate your vision of diversity and inclusion
  • Explore inclusive leadership through the lens of The GC Index®
  • Learn a new language and framework to take back into your organisation

With over 20 years of working with business leaders to get the best from their talent, Nathan has always thought there was something missing. He has created a global community of GC Partners and GCologists that is committed to fostering the impact and contribution from everyone around the world, whether they are a global Fortune CEO or a child in a developing country. He is constantly pushing The GC Index team, GC Partners and clients to enable frictionless and empowering interactions between HR and Business leaders so that everyone is valued to deliver positive business outcomes.
