Edinburgh: Women on Board – Board Level Competencies / Interview Skills

Women from financial service backgrounds are incredibly sought after by organisations wishing to increase diversity across their boards. Whether as a Trustee in a third sector charity or a Non-Exec Director in the private sector, there has never been a better time to take that first (or second or third!) step towards building your board career. We are here to help you succeed.

This second in a series of three linked events invites you to consider the competencies required at board level and to practice demonstrating them during interview stage. Kim Atkinson and Meg Wright, panel members from the first event back in May, will be joined by James Colhoun from Carlyle Associates to present the key board competencies and how you can tailor your personal pitch in response. This will be followed by a workshop to practice mock interviews with the aim that by the end of the session you will have enough material to feel confident preparing that next board application.

Our third event later this year will be a speed dating session to match members with prospective board vacancies so this is a great opportunity to see what’s likely to be in store.
