WIBF and Citi are delighted to co-host a practical session led by Kerry Dudley to help you adopt a growth mindset at work.

Are you concerned about leading your first important meeting or feeling anxious about leading your first big project? Perhaps you’re feeling frustrated that you’re not putting yourself forward for promotion or having doubts about your competence in your current or future role? If any of this sounds familiar, then this session is for you.

Believing we’re not capable of learning new skills or behaviours is not unusual and stepping out of our comfort zone can trigger self-limiting thoughts and fear.

Some people believe that they are born a particular way and stay like that for life. But we now know from neuroscience that the brain functions more like a muscle and gets stronger and smarter when we learn and practice new things. This means we can realise our potential, feel greater satisfaction and achieve a more fulfilling working life.

Key take-aways:

  • Learn about the differences between a self-limiting ‘fixed mindset’ and the benefits of adopting a healthy ‘growth mindset’
  • Gain insight into the neuroscience of the brain – you are in charge of your mind!
  • Understand the process and stages of learning a new skill, behaviour or technique
  • Come away with useful tips, personal actions and a belief that a change is possible!
