An introduction to measuring and managing business carbon footprint and climate-related financial risk in the Financial Services sector. Georgie Edwards and Eleanor Penney of Anthesis Group will talk about the process of developing a carbon footprint, some of the approaches businesses are adopting to reduce their emissions, and their experience helping companies implement Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Anthesis is a specialist sustainability consultancy, working to deliver sustainable performance for organisations across the world.
Georgie Edwards, Principal Consultant
Georgie is a Principal Consultant within Anthesis’ Strategy and Brand team and Climate Risk lead in the UK, with six years of experience within the sustainability sector. Georgie works with private and public sector organisations to develop authentic sustainability aspirations, that can be delivered through meaningful action. Working in partnership with a number of financial sector and corporate clients, Georgie has helped better their impact on the environment and deliver financial returns both through cost savings and resilience to climate-related risks.
Eleanor Penney, Senior Analyst
Ellie is an experienced greenhouse gas technical analyst within Anthesis’ UK Climate and Decarbonisation team. Working with a wide range of clients, Ellie specialises in helping corporations, public-sector organisations and city regions to measure and understand their environmental impacts, working with these clients to develop tangible targets and robust systems for tracking progress. Ellie has worked with corporate and financial sector clients to develop scenario models and emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science.
