Chief Technology Officer
Alex Cesar joined Thomson Reuters in January 2017 as Global Head of Risk Technology Management Solutions. In October 2019 she was promoted to Chief Technology Officer at Refinitiv (Refinitiv, formerly the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters). Prior that that she was Global Head of Elektron Data Platform (UK).
Previously, Alex was the AFC, Governance and Legal Technology Head at Deutsche Bank, where she was responsible for anti-financial crime focusing on target state analysis, strategic roadmap development and implementation. Prior to this, she worked for JP Morgan in Singapore as Head of Compliance Technology Development Centre and Compliance Technology Strategy. She has also held senior technology roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays Capital and Morgan Stanley. She has worked extensively abroad in Asia, South America and Australasia.
Alex has an executive MBA from CASS Business School, London and has studied computer science and electronic engineering. Alex is an active member of Women On Boards, Risky Women and a volunteer at Coderdojo.
Of Brazilian heritage, Alex is married to a New Zealander. They have two teenagers. A cosmopolitan family, they have lived in cities all over the world, including São Paulo, Auckland, Singapore and London.
