Steve is currently CIO at Coventry Building Society, the second largest Building Society in the UK. He was CIO at Gallagher, the global Insurance Broker. Prior to that, he was CIO at G4S plc, the global Security firm and he was CTO at MS Amlin, the global Insurance Carrier.
Steve was CEO at GreenBytes Inc. (Providence RI), a storage software firm, which was acquired by Oracle, and CEO at MEEZA, (Doha, Qatar) the largest Data Centre firm in the Middle East. He was Managing Director at analyst firm ESG (Milford MA), Global Head of Data Centre Operations at British Telecom and has held senior positions at Barclays, Cable & Wireless (now Vodafone) and Deutsche Bank. He is currently non-executive Chairman at Hydra Aesthetics Ltd, a medical start-up.
Steve is the author of “What Every CIO Wants - a guide for high technology salespeople” and is credited as the initiator of the Green Grid Data Center Maturity Model (DCMM), now well on the way to becoming an ISO standard for data centre efficiency and best practice. He is recognised as an expert in green IT and sustainability having won six industry awards starting with the British Computer Society best use of green technology award in 2007. He has served as a spokesperson for the IEEE on Cloud and IT Security and regularly hosts conferences and webcasts on technology subjects.
