  • Advisory Board

Marian was appointed to the Advisory Board in July 2017 and has been involved with WIBF since 2009. She is a partner in the Employment Team at Deloitte Legal, advising commercial clients on a range of employment law issues.

Her particular expertise lies in helping clients in the financial services sector manage their legal risk. She has extensive experience of advising on the employment law implications and challenges of regulatory regime requirements, including internal and external regulatory investigations. She also advises on complex and high value litigation. She has a long-standing interest in diversity and equal opportunities and in 2019 she acted as one of two special advisors to the Women and Equalities Select Committee enquiry into the use of confidentiality agreements in discrimination cases.

Described by the Legal 500 as “unflappable” and having an “excellent technical grip on all aspects” and by Chambers and Partners as “an ‘absolutely phenomenal lawyer with a great reputation in the financial services sector’ ”, Marian is a Who’s Who Legal Recognised Practitioner for Labour and Employment 2021, and in 2020 was recognised in the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist 2019. She is the Chair of the national Employment Lawyers’ Association (ELA), and is Co-Chair of the CityHR Consultation and Policy Committee and of the SMCR working party set up by CityHR to support FS members implementing and managing the individual accountability regimes.
