Marian was appointed to the Advisory Board in July 2017, and has been involved with WIBF since 2009. She is a partner in the Employment Team and Financial Services group at Kemp Little, advising commercial clients, on a range of employment law issues.
Her particular expertise is in helping clients in the financial services sector manage their legal risk. She has extensive experience of advising on complex and high value litigation and also advises on the employment law implications and challenges of regulatory regime requirements, including internal and external regulatory investigations, the Approved Persons Regime (APER) and the Senior Managers regime for banks and insurers (SMCR and SIMR). She has a long-standing interest in diversity and equal opportunities and writes and speaks regularly on these topics in the national press, TV and radio.
Described by the Legal 500 as “unflappable” and having an “excellent technical grip on all aspects” and by Chambers and Partners as “an ‘absolutely excellent’ adviser for a range of employment disputes”, Marian was recently recognised by Lawyer Monthly with a Women in Law 2017 Award for her outstanding legal expertise and contribution within the practice of Employment and is a Who’s Who Legal Recognised Practitioner for Labour and Employment 2017. Marian is Co-Chair of the CityHR Consultation, Legislation, Advice and Policy Committee and of the working party set up to support members implementing the individual accountability regimes. She also leads the national Employment Lawyers’ Association (ELA) Training Committee and sits on the ELA Management Committee.
