It has been my privilege and pleasure to lead Women in Banking and Finance since 2017, but as my term comes to an end, I am thrilled to welcome WIBF’s new President, Anna Lane, to take forward our mission to bring a gender lens to UK financial services by connecting, challenging and inspiring our network to unlock the full potential of financial services for all.

Anna Lane is a long-standing member of WIBF and is founder and CEO of The Wisdom Council (TWC), focussed on delivering strategic, technically complex, innovative and actionable strategies to improve consumer engagement and financial awareness. Anna is also partnering with WIBF, through the Wisdom Council, on our new Accelerating Change Together Programme. Prior to launching TWC Anna ran a specialist wealth and asset management consultancy and worked in the City for over 20 years in senior roles including JPMorgan Private Bank and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Anna sits on MAPS Gender and Financial Wellbeing Challenge Group tasked with considering the impact of gender across the five national goals of the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing and is member of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BAWE). She recently stood down after eight years on the Board of the Young Vic Theatre.

Anna said, “On behalf of the whole membership, I want to thank Vivienne for her vision, ambition and leadership that has seen WIBF step up and champion the critical importance of a gender-balanced workforce in financial services. If ever there was a time for WIBF to lead the debate and bring the industry together to challenge the status quo it is now – and it is with a huge sense of pride that I take over as President and CEO as it celebrates its 40th anniversary year.”

Anna will formally commence her term from January 2021, and until then, Anna will be getting to know our members and volunteers, and working with the Executive and Management Boards on our strategy for 2021 and beyond. I will be moving to the Advisory Board, and look forward to continuing to support and advocate for WIBF and our members.

I would also like to extend a very special thanks to Kate Grussing and her team at Sapphire Partners for their assistance in finding and connecting talent with opportunity, in our search for the new WIBF President.

Please join me in welcoming Anna, the new President and CEO of Women in Banking and Finance!
