The Branch provides a unique opportunity for women working in the Banking, Finance and Insurance sectors in Bristol and the South West. The focus will be on individual, professional and career development, with good opportunities to network with other women working in the sector. The calendar will consist of a combination of formal and social events (with at least one ‘event’ taking place each month).
About Us
WIBF in Bristol really began when three women working in the financial sector were talking over a coffee! We started to think about the kind of networking events that we wanted to attend ourselves, events that are stimulating, relevant to our own careers and exciting to participate in.
This was early in 2007. An informal committee has been meeting since then to develop the programme of events that you now see for 2008 – Please check the Diary for Events in Bristol. Women across the banking, financial and insurance sectors have formed the Management Team. During the year, we have researched the needs of professional women in Bristol, held a wine tasting at Avery’s Wine Bar and a number of informal meetings.
The Programme for 2008 will include formal and social events – do join us! If you do join WIBF in Bristol, you will have all the benefits of WIBF – and will be able to attend events at other branches – a great benefit if you work regularly in London, Edinburgh or Dublin!
