Do you, like many women,under-estimate the ways that your attitudes and actions about power and politics impact your career success?

Women tend to define power differently from men, disliking power which is positional or autocratic. Women are less likely to promote self and team assuming that their work speaks for itself.

Research shows that men are promoted more based upon their future potential while women receive promotions more based upon their track record. Yet, little girls are often more likely to be taught not to brag or talk about their accomplishments.

Women can fail to understand how corporate "buzz" or gossip can be harmful to their mobility and fail to manage the language and behaviours that result in labels that hold them back or even make them targets of sabotage.

This workshop will help you:
* identify your power source,
* understand how you are perceived,
* read the organisational politics in situations.
* develop strategies to gain power, build alliances, manage perceptions about yourselves and your teams
* to be "political whilst maintaining your ethics".

During the 90 minute Taster event, you will learn:

* To identify the ways careers can be derailed when we fail to pay attention to or are naive about organisational politics

* A political styles model, how to diagnose our stakeholders' political style and how to flex our style in order to be more politically savvy

*About two key strategies, Managing your Power Image and Building Alliances, and take away a network map and an action plan for building a stronger power base

Registration Time: 6.00pm for 6.30pm start to 9.00pm
