Sexism still rife in City

Sexism in the City is alive and well, according to research recently pubished. It shows that the highest performing women in the Sqaure Mile earn, on average, just three-fifths of what their male counterparts bring in.

The average salary for a male high flyer is £445,000 per year compared with £281,000 for women with the same experience and qualifications.

But self-employed women manage to circumvent the glass ceiling by setting up on their own to earn more than self-employed men :£130,000 compared with £121,000.
