During this exciting session you will learn the application of Scenario Thinking in assessing future opportunities and threats and considering strategic options.

So what are the prospects for women in the future? Are you sure or are you simply dreaming? What will determine a good outcome?

The use of this methodology will allow WIBF members to participate and live (briefly) in 4 possible, divergent futures. The four scenarios include:

• Golden Age of Equality which benefits women and men alike
• Worldwide Backlash that puts even Western women behind veils
• Two Step (two forward, two back) preserves the status quo
• Separate and Doing Fine, Thanks – a world of gender separation

The session will be led by Alistair Gray, founder and Managing Director of Genesis. He is one of Europe’s leading strategy consultants and a member of Global Business Network - scenario thinking specialists. Graduating from the University of Edinburgh his early business career was with Unilever and the John Wood Group. He founded Genesis in 1992 following spells as a consulting director with Arthur Young and PA. Genesis work across business and sport and Alistair’s clients include RBS, Aberdeen Asset Management, DTZ, Ernst & Young, The FA, Cricket Australia, Australian Sports Commission, Sport England and many other leading sports and businesses.

Alistair was the founding Chair of the Scottish Institute of Sport and spent 7 years at the helm of an Institute that achieved its 10 year goals in 5 years from 1998. He founded the Scottish Institute of Sport Foundation with Sir Bill Gammell in 2005. This charitable foundation focuses on building a Culture of Winning in Scotland. In 2007 he was appointed Honorary Professor in Sports Management at the University of Stirling and is a visiting professor at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia)
